Pause, Breathe, Teach: Helping Students (and Yourself!) Stay Regulated
| |
When students struggle with self-regulation, it can throw off the entire classroom dynamic-and let’s be honest, some days it’s hard to stay regulated yourself! This workshop is designed to help educators bring mindfulness into their teaching in a way that’s simple, practical, and effective. Mindfulness isn’t just about sitting still and meditating; it’s about using small, powerful moments throughout the day to reset, refocus, and create a calmer learning environment. Discover tools to help your students transition between tasks, manage big emotions, and build self-awareness; all while improving focus and engagement.
Participants will: · Gain a clear understanding of how mindfulness supports brain development, self-regulation, and overall well-being · Acquire practical tools to make mindfulness accessible, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for students of all ages · Identify the key benefits of mindfulness for fostering emotional regulation, enhancing focus, and reducing stress in both students and educators · Learn and practice simple mindfulness techniques, including breathing exercises, grounding strategies, and movement-based mindfulness · Explore ways to seamlessly incorporate mindfulness into daily classroom routines without disrupting instructional time
