Components of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), the Role of the Student Success Team (S.S.T.) and the Effective Use of the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP):
How Do These Three Structures Impact Inclusive Teaching and Learning?

The workshop will explore the core components of multi-tiered systems of supports and provide a guide of looking at an effective delivery system that is intended to provide an educational experience for all students with a focus on effective instruction, scientifically based interventions and student outcomes. The workshop will explore how the Student Success Team (S.S.T.) enhances the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. As a problem-solving, multidisciplinary team, the S.S.T. thoroughly examines individual student needs to identify the necessary support for student success. Also, the workshop will explore the effective use of the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP) in Tier I to ensure all students receive appropriate support and accommodations within the general education setting.

Participants will:

·         Discover the purpose, components, and key actions for a successful multi-tiered system of supports

·         Discover ways how MTSS impacts teaching and student achievement

·         Reflect on how their school responds to DuFour’s four essential questions

·         Explore the responsibility of an educator to DuFour’s four essential questions

·         Discover how the S.S.T. process augments the multi-tiered system of support to impact teaching and learning

·         Explore how a District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP) is effectively utilized at the Tier I level to ensure all students receive appropriate support and accommodations within the general education setting, promoting a more inclusive learning environment
